Information on application procedure to add substances to official lists
As part of the joint research initiative initiated by the German Food Processing and Packaging Machinery Association, promising sensor technologies are being further developed to prototype maturity and evaluated under practical conditions according to uniform criteria. A project volume of 1.85 million euros is available to the five participating research institutes for this purpose.
The Riboflavin test is used for testing cleanability ( wettability) of open equipment. The VDMA information sheet was published by VDMA Process Plant and Equipment Industry Association in 2007 and is available in German and English.
The Food Processing and Packaging Machinery Association within VDMA is making translations available.
For more than twenty years, the VDMA working group "Interface problems in aseptic plants" has been publishing guidelines on the topic of hygienic and aseptic filling. The topics range from methods of microbiological validation of aseptic plants, minimum requirements for sterilization performance to practical guidelines. A publication overview can be found here.
